GENERAL RULE: Bigger is BETTER. Many things determine the visibility of your sign. The font, weather, traffic, and illumination will all play factors. So when in doubt, go bigger.

Use this chart as a general guideline in figuring out what size sign you need.

Calculations are based on externally (or naturally) lit sign with all uppercase Helvetica Letters utilizing negative space. Factors that may affect required letter size are: color scheme, font selection, traffic, and weather conditions or sign standoff.
